Ok, so I actually found this out a few days ago but have been too busy. Since I began school roughly two months ago, I've been really fortunate to be able to focus mostly on that and running. This can be a blessing and a curse. On one hand, I feel like I'm in a race and for once, I might not come in last. On the other hand, I also feel like if I don't pace myself better, I may not finish the race at all. (Fly and die, when you go out too fast and then struggle later in the race.)
During my call with my student mentor, last week, I mentioned something about my family. Kelly suggested that I try calling Well Connect (like EAP) to see if they could hook me up with some resources. I figured I had nothing to lose, and I couldn't figure out where to turn. I called and I was so impressed with how empathetic the counselor was that I spoke with. I felt really empowered after I hung up the phone. I even called one of my brothers to tell him about what I found out. Another counselor even called me back the next day to check on me. It's hard to believe that this is a FREE service, and a service that Kelly told me, isn't used much.
When I got the result of my revision for ECommerce, it was a bit anti-climactic since, for the past week, I've been focused on my parents. Still, I'm glad I called and I encourage anyone who has a question (mine referred to elder care) to call and ask. If you don't like them, you can hang up and it doesn't cost you a dime.
I'm now fully engrossed in Supply Chain, and it's giving me headaches. The first thing that we're supposed to do is participate in a simulation of a global business...to sell microcomputers. Ever heard of those? My hubby, the Geek said he hadn't heard that term since '92. The software must have been written in 1988 because it's horribly dated. According to Kelly, they are supposed to get a newer version sometime soon. Let's hope so!
Forward!
