I received an email from my enrollment counselor, Jay, confirming what I thought I already knew; that I was ready to begin my coursework as of Oct. 1. Whew! Would it have killed them to have sent out a nice email saying, "Congratulations on your acceptance to Western Governors University..."??
I spoke to Jay today for what might be the last time. He re-re-re-confirmed that I AM indeed set to go and should get an email in a few days that has instructions for how to access my first class. He said that I should also receive an email from my mentor sometime within the next week. I think once that happens, it'll start to feel a lot more real. I really hope we like each other. I've read that it's possible to switch mentors if you need to, but I'm hopeful that it doesn't come to that.
Since my hubby and I are leaving for Chicago on Oct. 6th to do the marathon, my goal is to finish my first class, Education Without Boundaries before I
One thing worth noting, that I found out from Jay, is that although you should be able to read the class materials on a non-Mac (iPad), tablet, you must be connected to the internet to do so. Apparently the materials are not downloadable, thus the need for an internet connection.
My goal for this week is to get my office cleaned up and organized so that I can minimize my excuses when it's time to get serious. Wish me luck!
